Just as when a young person explores a workplace in real life, their experience of the virtual workplace must be directed to some extent by a teacher in order to best maximise the potential of the resource. Any real visit needs to have focus and purpose, so the same is true for students using VIEW.
The user is able to gain experience and knowledge through exploration, but in many cases some form of support can help a student know what to look out for, or where to best find particular evidence.
Below we have provided a comprehensive range of support materials to support the student and teacher alike. Please feel free to download the resources, save, and print them for use in the classroom.
Over 50 downloadable PDF documents including activities to support students going on work experience, each one includes information on the following: teacher preparation, student pre, post and extension activities together with a detailed plan of work and student sheets.
To help the teacher and the student make the best use of their virtual visit to the House of Fraser we have developed support materials that provide:
- Instruction on how to use the VIEW interface
- An indication of content in the House of Fraser and its location
- Introductory activities to develop exploration skills using VIEW
- Activities that will support the use of VIEW Retail to meet specific curriculum need
